Outer Banks Remodeling Construction
Design-led remodeling and renovations from first sketch to final walkthrough.
Remodeling & Renovation Contractor on the Outer Banks
With Outer Banks real estate, you do not always have to start from the ground up. If you have found the right location, or a great deal that needs TLC, you need a remodeling contractor that understands Outer Banks structures, weather, and permitting.
As a licensed and insured general contractor, Premiere Contracting helps you transform what you have into what you want, with craftsmanship that holds up to wind, salt, and heavy use.
Every remodel lives in one of two worlds, homes or businesses, and the path is a little different for each. Below, we spell out how we approach both facets of our business, then walk you through our design-build process.
Residential Remodeling for Homes and Vacation Rentals
Our residential remodeling services are ideal for homes and vacation rentals with dated layouts, exterior finishes, or limited space. We offer whole-home reconfigurations that plan around the realities of living on the Outer Banks including wind, salty air, and flooding waters.
We offer design support and help you manage decision milestones which leads to fewer change orders and a faster finish. Our work is organized with phasing for live-in or short-term move-out plans with clean site management, so your life can keep moving.

Learn More About Our Commercial ConstructionOur Design-Build Remodeling Process
Working with one construction team changes everything. We pair in-house design with smart construction decisions for a smoother remodeling process.
Our design-build construction process guides you through planning, permits, and building, adapting to your existing floor plan and needs. From first walk-through to final clean-up, our goal is to produce results you are proud of.
#1: Initial Planning & Feasibility
Our construction process begins with a site walk-through of your existing structure. Here we discuss the needs of your property.
The initial planning phase outlines the scope of your project by defining the feasibility of your goals, budget, and timeline.
#2: Design & Pricing Alignment
During the design and rendering phase, we customize your floor plan and select the materials and fixtures. Often, you can see the space before we build it with 3-D visuals and side-by-side option sets that make decisions easier.
#3: Pre-Construction & Permits
Before we begin construction, we enter the pre-construction phase. We lock in your selections, order components such as windows and doors, and prepare permit packets.
Construction phasing, access, and site logistics are mapped during this phase, so trades for specialty work, such as plumbing and electrical, never sit idly by waiting to work.
#4: Demolition, Building, & Project Management
A key aspect of our contracting services that differentiates us from other builders is our project management expertise. In the demolition and building phase, we provide disciplined sequencing and give you regular updates, often with photos to keep you informed of next steps and decisions needed to be made.
We can also schedule milestone walkthroughs, such as framing, rough-ins, and finishing, to keep you confident in your project moving forward.
#5: Turnover & Close-Out
At the end of your renovation, we conduct a final inspection where you are provided with information to care for your home and warranty documents. By walking through the space with you, we can address any concerns before handing you back a clean, ready-to-use home or business.

What We Renovate
The projects we renovate are remodeled for real life on the Outer Banks: salt, wind, renters, storms, and all.
Whole-Property Reconfigurations
One of our favorite renovations are when we can take a choppy floor plan and make it live like new. During our whole-home reconfiguration remodels we move walls, re-site stairs, and resize openings for light and views without fighting the structure.
If you are looking for an open-concept conversion, stair relocation, or upgrades to your windows, doors, and insulation, this route may be right for you.
Custom Kitchen Remodeling
Kitchen remodeling can completely revamp the functionality of the overall aesthetics of your home. We can craft custom kitchens by optimizing your layout and offering full gut renovations that make your kitchen easier to cook in, clean, and keep organized with thoughtful storage.
If you are looking for an island-first layout, custom cabinetry, and moving walls to open up the space of your kitchen, our kitchen renovation expertise can help.
Bathroom Renovations
Our bathroom renovations can create a spa-like experience for your home.
By adding walk-in showers, soaking tubs, heated floors, custom tile, new vanities, sinks and toilets, you can create an oasis that doesn’t feel builder grade basic.
Home Additions
Additions and extensions are a great way to add value and accessibility to your Outer Banks home, business, or vacation rental property by adding more square footage. From second-story additions, porches, decks, and in-law suites, we specialize in crafting tailored construction solutions to design and build additions that functionally enhance your property’s layout
Elevator Additions
Elevator additions can make multi-level living easier, especially if you are planning to age in place or are a business needing to make your property more accessible to guests. We plan shaft location, power hookups, and place the structure while finishing it to match the rest of your home seamlessly.
We work with reliable elevator companies to help you find the right lift for your property.
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are another type of home addition we complete. An ADU can work as a guest cottage, mother-in-law suite, or pool house.
The importance of code and lot coverage matters a lot here. We help navigate zoning, setbacks, septic capacity, and (where applicable) coastal proximity.
Exterior Refreshes
Curb appeal is a great way to make your home maintain its value, but it requires the right materials for your exterior. We pair the right siding, flashing, and fasteners so your paint and stains actually last.
