Premiere Contracting was awarded the contract to construct the new Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department, located on Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The project consisted of the construction of a 6,400 square foot masonry, and timber building, site work, and infrastructure.
Building on the island of Ocracoke presented its challenges in logistics, but PCI took the challenge head-on and performed the construction in 8 months. The Ocracoke Volunteer Fire Department building features 4 bays with overhead doors for the fire engines; a custom epoxy flake floor with color detail highlighting the maltese cross emblem; 3 separate offices; a large conference room and a full-service kitchen.
